Part one: Need To Know -All parents and students should have on masks while waiting to enter class and maintain social distancing during passing times. -Signage for traffic patterns must be followed when entering or exiting class. All traffic is one way, except for the cross over at the upper room door, Entrance 2. Please see the diagram above, and see the traffic in action in the video on our Facebook. You can view this video without having a Facebook account! Please visit this link: https://www.facebook.com/NextStepBarre. -Students will only the door associated with their classroom, and only use the bathroom associated with their classroom. -Parents with students in the regular dance program (versus the Little Feet program) are not permitted in dance rooms. This is completely to help us maintain COVID-19 regulations regarding social distancing and grouping size per square foot. Thank you for understanding. -A staff member will call students to enter one at a time. Students will have a touchless temperature test and be given hand sanitizer upon entry, and then be directed to a Social Dis-Dancing space. All personal items may be placed in the designated holding space. Students are encouraged to attend class with as few personal items as possible. -When students arrive in their social distancing space, they may remove their mask. Students must put their mask back on before leaving their space for any reason. -Please inform one classroom teacher during your first week if you would like your student to keep their mask on even when in a social distancing space. It is not required, but we are happy to reinforce whatever is agreed upon by your family. -The passing time procedure will reverse at the end of class – students will put their mask back on, and teachers will dismiss them one at a time out their designated door. Students proceeding directly to another class will be dismissed first, then in order of parent line up (for students under age 8). Part Two - extra details -High touch surfaces are sanitized in between classes. -Feet are sanitized in classes where bare feet are on the floor! -Only in extenuating circumstances may students change classes by passing through hallway inside the building. If this is the case, all students and staff must be masked and socially distant, and students must be supervised during passing. -The maximum number of students allowed to one teacher is 11. Only about 10% of our classes are projected to have 11 students. Most have 6-8 to one teacher, given there is adequate indoor space. -Classes that can be productive outside will be taken onto the common or into the backyard as frequently as possible, weather permitting. -The rest room is sanitized a minimum of every thirty minutes, more frequently if a staff member reports heavy traffic. -Little Feet, recreational early elementary, recreational late elementary/middle school, competitive elementary and competitive teen classes have been strategically scheduled to avoid overlap as much as possible. -Classrooms 1 and 2 share restroom number one, and the third classroom has been designated to restroom number two. Students in classroom 1 are encouraged to use the restroom in the first half of the class block, and students in classroom 2 are encouraged to wait until the second half of class to decrease group cross-over as much as possible. -Each classroom is equipped with a HEPA filter and one-way ventilation. -To decrease Parent and Guardian traffic, our waiting room is currently closed. Virtual payment is encouraged whenever possible. -Students who do not pass temperature test will be asked to leave the premises immediately. -Please see our 2020-2021 NSSPA Family Expectations; Covid-19 Specific Policies for details on plans in case of a COVID-19 case in the studio or in the QRSD.
